About TyWanting his life to imitate art, Ty Adams was inspired and motivated to become a DJ after watching the 1992 film Juice. Unfortunately he did not own a set of turntables thus he had to rely on the set of a childhood friend to quench his interest. Over the years he sparingly touched those turntables or any for that matter and it was not until 1996 that his mother purchased his first set of turntables as his Christmas present. All throughout high school Ty honed his skills in his bedroom by diligently practicing for hours and by composing mini-mixtapes for himself and his friends. Once in college, Ty linked with the DJs that were behind most of the parties and events taking place on campus. While shadowing them, he learned the many aspects of djing parties and events. With such knowledge and a strong team behind him, Ty soon began to make a name for himself on campus by successfully djing a few parties and events on his own. Since he was now apart of a team of DJs, more opportunities began to emerge for himself as well as the team. Thanks to a few connections, they would go on to establish themselves within the entertainment industry by djing several events that include a fashion show by Marc Ecko and the 2004 Hot 97 (New York) Summer Jam festival. The momentum continued as another opportunity became available to the team late 2004. Jay-Z's 40/40 Club was looking for a resident DJ thus one member of the team, DJ Poun, auditioned for the position and landed it. Since the members of the team were basically cut from the same cloth, this new opportunity soon extended beyond New York City and into Atlantic City and later Las Vegas as the 40/40 Club franchise opened a club in each city thus implementing a member of the team at each location. Ty remained at the New York location, where he would play to thousands every weekend and where he had the opportunity to play for high-profile events. Whether it is a Bar-Mitzvah, a Sweet-16, or an event filled with celebrities in attendance-Ty Adams has done them all equally well. His success can be attributed to his innate ability to sense what ambiance is needed for any given event. Knowledgeable in several genres of music (Classic Rock, Pop, Techno, Electronica, Reggae, Reggaeton, Salsa, Hip Hop and R & B), Ty Adams is able to coherently blend in and out of each to create the perfect mix that will compliment any event. He has held residency at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club (NYC) for over three years. Within that time, he found himself in demand for some of the most high-profile events throughout New York City which included: Beyonce’s “B-Day” birthday party, Alex Rodriguez’s surprise birthday party as well as his yearly charity fundraising Poker tournaments and several after-parties and premiere parties for MTV Networks, The FX Network, The Oxygen Network, ESPN Networks and Jay-Z, Nick Lachey, Mariah Carey and many more. Given his incredible track record and talent he is destined to make strides in his career. With his determination and goal to be the best DJ, Ty Adams does not anticipate to stop nor slow down any time soon. Fans of this ShowFavorite LinksTy's Friends
